Our lovely customer needed a handrail for her garden to walk up the steps as her knees are playing up. She initially bought something online, but upon checking it out, immediately said ‘I’m not fitting that’ ;) I suggested we could do something very rustic and natural to match the theme of the overall garden.
We created a custom handrail featuring treated vertical supports and a real felled log as the main feature.
The top handrail support was sourced locally in a woods whilst walking the dog! Bark was hand tool removed and the entire surface sanded smooth. The vertical supports were hand cut and shaped to match the outline of handrail. Angle holes drilled and stainless timber screws fixed it in place with snug-fit wooden dowels to cover the holes.
Final sand back and treated with 3 coats of Danish Oil.
